What is NTA JEE Main Exam?
The Joint Entrance Examination (Main), also known as JEE Main, is the exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to shortlist candidates for admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses at the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).
JEE Main also serves as the qualifying exam for the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technologies (IITs).
National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the exam every year in multiple sessions. The exam is conducted in 13 languages across all the states of India and several countries outside the country.

JEE Main 2022 registration for session 2 is open. Candidates can fill the application form up to June 30. The process of filling the JEE Main 2022 application form is online.
At the time of filling the JEE Mains 2022 registration form, candidates need to upload scanned images of photos, signatures, educational certificates, and documents about reservation benefits.
Documents required for JEE Mains 2022 form include a scanned image of a photo, signature and category certificate (if applicable). Candidates can check here the details about application fees, specifications of images to be uploaded and the procedure of filling JEE Mains 2022 application form.
How to Fill JEE Mains Form 2022
- Step 1- Open the official website
- Step 2- Click on the “JEE Main 2022 Registration” link
- Step 3- Fill in the required details and click on the “Submit” button to complete the registration
- Step 4- After completion of registration, candidates will be redirected to the page of filling the detailed application form. In this step, candidates have to provide details of educational qualification, parents' details, address of communication and permanent address, and exam centre preference.
- Step 5- Upload scanned images of passport size photographs and signature
- Step 6- Pay the application fee
- Step 7-The application form will be automatically submitted after the successful payment of application fees.
After the completion of JEE Main registration process, candidates will receive an email and message in their registered email ID and mobile phone number with details of the application form number and password. Candidates will need to keep safe/save the details of registration.
Candidates need to download the filled application form and take its printout. It is advised that candidates keep safe the print copy of the application form until the completion of the admission process.

JEE Main 2022 Exam Centres
The NTA has announced exam cities for JEE Main 2022. The total number of exam cities has increased from 334 to 514 for JEE Mains 2022. Candidates have to fill out four choices of their preferred exam cities at the time of filling JEE Main application form. Candidates will be allotted one exam city out of the four options in which candidates have to appear in the exam. Following are a few details related to JEE Main Exam Centres 2022.
- Candidates will see the list of exam cities for filling in the form according to the address mentioned at the time of registration.
- Candidates have to select any four cities of their choice as test centre preference while applying for JEE Main 2022. NTA will allot a city out of four options.
- The allotted exam centre/city will be mentioned on the JEE Main 2022 admit card. To check the exam city allotted to them, candidates will need their login details along with JEE Main 2022 application number and date of birth.
- Please note that the decision of the NTA regarding the allotment of centre, date, and shift will be final. No correspondence or request will be entertained in such a case.

JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the JEE Main 2022, applicants must ensure that they fulfill the JEE Main 2022 eligibility criteria to apply for the exam. If someone does not meet the criteria for applying, he/she will not be allowed to sit for the exam. A list of the criteria required is given below-
Educational Qualification | Candidates must have passed the 12th board or equivalent from any recognized board. |
Age Limit | There is no age limit for applying to the JEE Main examination. |
Year of Passing | Candidates who have qualified for the 12th examination or equivalent in 2020, 2021 are only eligible to apply in the examination. |
Minimum Number of subjects in the last qualifying Examination | The applicant must have passed the 12th examination or equivalent with a minimum of 5 subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Language, and an optional subject |
Required Percentage Of Marks | Candidates must have attained a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST candidates) of their respective boards. |
